Current Issues in Linguistics and Literary Studies (APLiL-2026)

Current Issues in Linguistics and Literary Studies. 13th (27th) International Conference for Students and Early Career Researchers

About
Current Issues in Linguistics and Literary Studies (APLiL) is an annual international conference, providing a platform for students, both under- and postgraduate, and early career researchers.

This year the conference explores The Conscious Subject. In the world of today, people—those speaking and writing, reading and listening, creating and perceiving—face numerous challenges that question their place in the present and future of texts and contexts. As a response, we believe it is especially important to discuss the individual as an agential conscious participant in the interaction between thought and word. We invite you to join the conversation!

The conference covers a wide variety of research areas including the following:
1. Linguistics —
  • Cognitive linguistics
  • Communicative linguistics
  • Computational linguistics
  • Applied linguistics
  • Contrastive linguistics
  • Comparative-historical linguistics and classical philology
  • Russian as a foreign language within the diverse linguocultural media
  • Key aspects of contemporary Russian language studies
  • Folk culture in language and text
2. Literary Studies —
  • Classic Russian literature
  • Russian literature of the 20th century
  • Contemporary and current Russian literature
  • Creative writing
  • International literary connections of Russia and literary translation
3. Publishing and Editing
4. Translation and Intercultural Communication
5. Semiotics of Art and Game Studies
We warmly encourage contributions that engage with the aforementioned or similar areas.
